VANESSA VU

A Bit About Me
Everybody has a story, here is mine:
Born and raised in Vietnam, my family had different plans for my future. They wanted me to pursue a degree in business, but I knew that my true passion lay in interior design.
When I turned 16, I made the bold decision to pursue her dreams and convinced my family to support her education in design in the State.
Living in a foreign country by myself was a challenging journey, but I gave it my all in my studies as I knew it was my only opportunity to build a career and demonstrate my success.
I persisted in following my passion for design, and after graduating, I relocated from Seattle to Chicago. Within just one week of moving, I landed a job at DLR group – my current workplace, where I found a warm and welcoming work environment.
After six years of experience in the field, fate brought me back to business when my husband and I decided to open their own restaurant. As a small business owner, I had to wear many hats, including marketing, content creation, and operations.
With a daytime job as an interior designer and nighttime gig as a small shop owner, I am now living a fulfilled life doing what I love.
If you would like to hear more of my lifelong stories, please contact me!
